August 3rd, Brandon began rehearsals on the Broadway-bound show, “Leap of Faith” and will reprise the role of AMOS that he originated in the workshops and also take on understudying the role of Jonas Nightingale which will be played by Raul Esparza. Brooke Shields also headlines the cast which includes: Nicholas Barasch, Jarrod Emick, Kendra Kassebaum, Kecia Lewis-Evans and Leslie Odom, Jr., Brad Anderson, Bradley Benjamin, Tom Berklund, Christopher Bones, Krystal Joy Brown, Ta'Rea Campbell, Eric L. Christian, Michelle Duffy, Harvey Evans, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Jennie Ford, Bob Gaynor, Angela Grovey, Shannon Lewis, Michael X. Martin, Maurice Murphy, Anise E. Ritchie, Darcie Roberts, Bryce Ryness, Ariel Shepley, C.E. Smith, Alex Michael Stoll, Dennis Stowe, Katherine Tokarz, Brandon Wardell, Karl Warden, Natalie Willes and Charlie Williams. The show will begin performances at the Ahmanson Theatre September 11th and runs through October 24th.
Brandon’s band, Space Cock, has begun working on it’s newest Album. Brandon fronts the band which includes Chris Reed, Matt Munroe and Zack Downes. The band’s touring launch was on July 4th in Los Angeles with more club dates to follow on the West Coast in August.
IN DEVELOPMENT
Brandon’s company, Johnny Roscoe Productions, is in Development for their feature film Shift The film is set against the backdrop of rural North Carolina, and provides a glimpse into the world of competitive stick shift Drag Racing, aka GEAR JAMMIN’ and the story of a father and son teaching each other what it means to be a man. Brandon will star as Charlie Dawson in film alongside real-life best Friend, Randy Spence. Please visit the Johnny Roscoe Productions website above for more on the company.
Brandon’s company, Theatreland Productions, recently released the Broadway cast album of “FELA!”. This album was released on June 8th on Knitting Factory Records. They are working on two additional versions of the recording including one starring Kevin Mambo as Fela Kuti. Release dates to follow. Click here for more information and to order.
Brandon reprised his role of Agent Johnny Dollar in a workshop of “Catch Me If You Can” in late June. The musical, written by Terrance McNally, Marc Shaiman and Scott Whittman, is based on the 2002 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Brandon was be joined in the production by Norbert Leo Butz, Tom Wopat and Aaron Tveit. Jack O’Brien directed and Jerry Mitchell was the choreographer. It is set to open on Broadway in the spring of 2011.
